It has been almost one month for Radio Mirchi 98.3 when it launched in UAE and became first
radio station to spread its wings in international market. Bollywood
Star Rani Mukherjee pushes the lauch button for Radio Mirchi in UAE
on Wednesday 1st February 2012 at 6 am and Radio Mirchi starts
all over UAE from three frequencies, i.e 97.3FM in Abu Dhabi, 88.8FM
in Dubai and 95.6FM in Al Ain. And with this launch Radio Mirchi became
the first Hindi radio station of UAE. Radio Mirchi UAE is the joint
venture of Entertainment Network India Limited and Abu Dhabi Media Company.
Radio Mirchi is the first Hindi Radio Channel in UAE,
and we can say Hindi-English Channel. The station plays in a mixture
of Hindi and English, but most of the songs are played from Bollywood.
Main Aim of Radio Mirchi in UAE is targeting the Hindi speaking listeners
in UAE, and during the first month the results are pretty positive.
Radio Mirchi is covering almost UAE and can be played in any part clearly,
while other channels cannot. In words of Prashant Panday, CEO of EMIL,
“Radio Mirchi UAE is packaged specifically to suit the needs of the
South Asian audience in UAE”. Sud has been chosen as the Programming
Head for Radio Mirchi in UAE. Sud says that Radio Mirchi has been expended
in UAE to make a difference and they will not take the first expansion
of Radio Mirchi in International market as a big responsibility.
